Don't sweat the small stuff, kid.

Hi blogosphere.
I woke up really early today. Probably because I went to bed at like 10:00 last night. I am awesome. And 90 years old.

Friday was dentist day. :(
I worked until about 10:30 and then headed out to The Rob for my appointment.

My coworkers are so clever. This made me laugh.

I was really nervous but it ended up not being too bad. My dentist was really good with my 3 year old nervousness. My wisdom tooth put up a good fight so I was pretty confident I would be in pain when the novacaine wore off. This turned out to be very true.

Jason picked me up at my parents later that evening and we went back to my place and watched a movie while I hardly spoke and wanted to cry occasionally.
Saturday I felt a lot better, like worlds better. Jason wins greatest boyfriend ever award for this weekend because he was so awesome. He made soup and watched movies with me and hung out with me and didn't mind hanging even when I couldn't really talk. It was very nice.

Since I was feeling good we ventured out to The Brillo Box Saturday evening to see Mariage Blanc play and to see Pamela and Andy. It was fun. Mariage Blanc ended up being pretty good. I enjoyed them. I did not enjoy the crowd. After they played it was so crowded and hot and people kept hitting into me every two seconds and I was on Vicodin and had no alcohol buffer and I started to feel hot and dizzy and wanted to just leave. So we did just kind of leave and I felt bad because I really did want to hang with Pam and Andy more but I could not possibly fathom going back into that room, so I texted Pam to tell her we were bailing and we left.
I wish I took pictures because I had on a super sweet outfit. Oh well.
It was still really great to see The Pam. Yes.

We then went home and watched a movie and went to bed. I felt so 80 years old this weekend. Jason and I are going to make really great 90 year olds. I can knit us cardigans.

Sunday was pretty chill, we went and had breakfast at Casey's Diner (previously Debbie's Diner) and it was exciting because it was probably the most I had eaten all weekend. Veggie omlette is crazy delicious!
I was so full and pleased. Then we went our seperate ways, Jason went to hang with his rents and I went back to my place to watch Gossip Girl online and grocery shop. (I got Thai Peanut Dressing!!!! SO EXCITED!)

So, here are some random photos.

Me growing mustaches at work.

Dan and I do an impression of a fictional character we call Mr. Smoothie pretty much all day at work. The voice sounds a lot like the beloved character on South Park, Mr. Hanky, the christmas poo. I came in to work Thursday with a phone message to call back Mr. Smoothie.

On the left is a rare occurance when I actually got ready for work one day. Notice my one eye is smaller than the other. I'm convinced my eyebrows are uneven and is making that eye look different. Or I have a lazy eye. This is seriously something I think about.
The photo on the right is my new fave hat from Modcloth and curly hair.

I'm not taking any painkillers today because I totally deserve a beer tonight. I really would like one. Or five. I also don't really need painkillers anymore.

Alright. Time to shower. Don't worry. Here's Bob.

I'm obsessed.

With Modcloth.

I purchased this today. Please share in my excitement.

I love it so much!

I've also been debating on these two items :

Online shopping has taken over my life. I just realized both the dresses are polka dotted. Ha.

Faantastic!

FML

I began having terrible pains in my upper right mouth region on Saturday, resulting in a trip to the dentist on Monday, resulting in needing a wisdom tooth and innocent bystander tooth pulled, resulting in having to be on a very strong antibiotic and vicodin until Friday. Fuck you, wisdom teeth. I do not think you are very wise.
No fun.
Here's to painkillers and sleeping the pain away. And the song "Lua" by Bright Eyes on repeat.

I can hear my stomach growling. But I must blog.

Sorry for the lack of updating. I've been very busy. I'm very important.

St. Patricks Day was really fun. We met Claire and Josh at PD's and then traveled to The Cage where Erik also joined us. I may have drank more than I intended to, but I think that's probably the point of St. Patricks Day. Josh wore his kilt, which was awesome. We also participated in a Dirty Limerick contest. Claire rocked it out and we were totally robbed by some old dude. The night started out really well, too. Grandpapa came over bearing glowing necklaces and all sorts of goodies. He loves us. And we love him.
Here's some pics.

I can't remember what else happened after St. Patricks Day. Oh! Thursday happened! Yessss. How could I forget? It was the best day ever! My manager got everyone Moe's for lunch, Claire and I went and got TOWN GOWNS from Old Navy and then we watched The Office and 30 Rock at Claire and Josh's place and dined on grilled cheese and soup. Mmmmm. So much deliciousness. We also watched the prez on Jay Leno, which was pretty sweet.

Last night we went to The Coop with Claire and Josh for a few drinks and then headed to the Brillo Box to catch Sistered and Life in Bed play. It was a really enjoyable evening. Jason and I got frozen pizzas afterwards but I fell asleep before I could have any. This is the only sad thing about last night. I do get very tired sometimes. I also slept in my town gown! I'm actually wearing my town gown right now....seriously. I love it. It's so comfortable. I'm going to buy 100 more!

I'm really hungry and pondering whether I should get a pizza or make something myself. Pizza sounds so good.

Alright, food time. And here's Bob.

Lazy update.

I don't feel too much like uploading tons of photographs on here right now because it's really nice outside and I would like to go bask in the niceness.

But I will have some fun St. Patrick Day pics lataaaa. I will give you one, because it's so awesome.

I love our awesomeness.

Barack Obama follows me.

Told you! Ha. I thought that was funny.
I signed up for Twitter the other day and did not understand it and still mostly don't, but have become weirdly entranced with it. Probably because it offers me entertainment while at work and bored.

This is my name. At work. On my office window type thing. It fell off a lot until I realized the sticky part on the back was not peeled off. I am a genius.

Work today was pretty smooth. Not too busy and not too slow, which is very nice. Tomorrow is a very early day and I'm not sure why I haven't gone to bed yet.

Tonight I went to see Watchmen with Jason, Austin, Flann and Steph. The previews looked so badass but the movie was pretty disappointing in my opinion. I've never read it, so I can't vouch for any sort of loyalty to that. I just found it so, so incredibly slow moving. Even the fight scenes were slow, though some were kind of neat.

The fact that it was so slow moving and ALSO almost three hours long pretty much made it feel like it was 6 hours long. I would like to read it because I can see that the story itself is very interesting, but I could have for sure lived without seeing the movie.

Moving on! I'm considering buying an Ipod Touch. I really miss listening to music on my mp3 player. Mine is 100 years old, closely resembles a brick and the software for it ceased to work or exist about three or four years ago and so it has nothing remotely current on it.
Being that I am on the bus about 2 hours a day during the work week, I feel this is not a totally crazy purchase but I don't want to jump the gun, either.
They are pretty expensive and I don't know anything about how to actually put music on them. I'm not a downloader so I know I'd have to go through the painful process of transferring cd's, but that's really depressing because most of my cd's are missing or in someone else's possesion.
If anyone has one and would like to give me some reviews, I would be very thankful.

Sorry this entry is not very interesting. I'm pretty tired but did want to get in some blogtime before bed.

BTW - Check out Tinted Windows. As a long time Hanson fan (Oh, I know. Get over it, already.) and an even longer fan of music in general, I actually really like it. It's fun pop rock with a lot of very talented musicians, seemingly just having a good time playing some fun music and rocking out. And children, isn't that what it's all about?

Mega-update. Like, huge.

Hello, electronic world of awesomeness. I was negligent this Friday and Saturday, so I'm making it up to the gods of the interweb by offering a large, nonsense filled post in hopes of coming back into their good graces.

Let's get all(most) of the pictures out of the way first. I didn't take all that many, mainly because
I'm a bad person. I thought to myself on Friday that I would like to document the weekend but then it just didn't happen. Oh well.

This is the scenic route to my bus stop in the a.m. hours. Exotic, isn't it?

Friday morning before work, I listened to my new fave band, The Veronica's for the entirety of the getting ready for work process. It was blissful. They just really speak to my soul. I also enjoyed some oatmeal with pumpkin in it which I never would have done if it wasn't for Pam's awesome food blog.

The work day was alright, started off slow and then got really busy towards the end. And full of crazies, but what else is new?

This is the coffee bar at work. We're still out of coffee upstairs so I've been hitting up this classy little technological wonder the past few work days. My issues : It doesn't fill my cup up all the way, I like to drink LARGE quantities of coffee and I feel slightly ridiculous coming to refill every 20 minutes. The good points are that you feel really professional while using it and there are many different kinds of coffee you can order for it and it's super fast. I'm thinking if I order a box of something and test it out, I may feel content.

This is the awesome beer that Josh provided me with on Thursday night when we went over to Josh and Claire's apartment for dinner and the new episodes of The Office and 30 Rock. I thought this beer was so great. I love the bottle wrapper and it was very good. Thursday was really fun, Claire made eggplant parm which was very tasty. There are no pictures because when I'm focused on eating there is not much else that seeps through my brain.

Friday was my Dad's birthday so Jason and I headed to The Rob to celebrate. It was fun. My dad is so awesome. We did get stuck there forever though. And we were both incredibly tired.
On the upside, my mother sent us home with these cookie masterpieces.

My mother's side of the family is entirely Irish, while my father's side is entirely Italian. This makes for very intense holidays, year round. There's always really awesome food so I really can't complain.

Nothing else worth mentioning happened Friday night, it was pretty low key.

Saturday we had oatmeal with pumpkin for breakfast and then for some reason decided to see what She & Him sounded like, which consists of M. Ward and Zoey Deschanel. I wasn't sure what it would be like because I had heard really mixed reviews from friends but I really was into it. She has a really nice voice, a very 60's sort of vibe going on with it.

Speaking of music, one of my favorite bands, Saves The Day!!!!!!, will be coming to town on my birthday (April 29th, buy me presents!) and they are coming with Alkaline Trio, more awesomeness, right? My whole issue though, is that it's at Club Zoo? Which I suspect is actually what was formerly known as Metropol in the days of my youth.
Worst venue ever. You could never see no matter where you were standing and the entire set up is just shit.
The tickets are probably ridiculously priced as well. So I'm debating on going. It IS my birthday and it would be the second time seeing Saves The Day on my actual birthday. A few years ago we went to Cleveland to see them on my birthday, which was awesome.
Also, one of the original members of Saves The Day, Dave, recently left the band. I am saddended by this.
Bye Dave! I'm sure Saves The Day fans everywhere will miss you very much.

Oh, so Saturday, that's what I was talking about.
Well, we broke for showering and lunch eating and then met back up around 3. At some point we headed up Murray and wandered down Forbes and briefly onto Beechview. Browsed some stores. Were incredibly hungry.
At seven we headed to the Silk Elephant, which is a delicious Thai resteraunt with terrible seating and at least last night, terrible service. We went for Steph's birthday with a group of people. It was very nice. Except for the hateful waitress.
Afterwards we went to the cage, of course. It ended up being a really fun evening. Pamela came out for a bit too and I was stoked about that. I put old school New Found Glory on the jukebox for us and it was awesome.

Today, the day of rest, Jason made tofu scramble and it was very good. Now I am home.

And to end this post, here is Bob. Being studly, as he always is..

OMG my foot is asleep.

This is the only photographic goodness that I captured today. It was a lazy attempt at having something to post in here.

Last night Jason and I did watch 30 Rock and it was awesome. We drank some beers and laughed a lot. It was a fun night.
This morning I had to go to FOX CHAPEL, which Jason drove me to, which was maybe the most awesome thing ever. I will have to repay him by doing something nice. Like sewing his jeans.

When I got back to work it was only 11:30 or so but it felt like it should have been 3:00 which led to me being super tired and zoned out the rest of the day. I drank so much coffee and it honestly
had no effect on me.

I need a haircut. This is how I want my haircut. Probably not this short and definitely not that color, but I like the cut a lot. (I had an entire night spent watching the first season of Gossip Girl on my roomates computer, which explains how I discovered this.)

I like how her bangs are. Hmm.

On the way home from work today I forced myself to go to Giant Eagle before I actually went home because I knew if I went home first I would never make it to Giant Eagle as I would be consumed by my intense laziness.
I got lots of canned veggies, VINEGAR, pumpkin to try in my oatmeal like Pam always eats on her blog because it looks really good and I love pumpkin. I also got Morningstar sausage patties, Boca Portabella Mushroom and Spicy Black Bean Burgers. This is awesome for me consumption wise, not awesome to carry a lot of canned things home from Giant Eagle. My arms STILL hurt. I should have known better. Oh, and I got peanut butter. And other stuff. But who cares?

Did you know that Boyz II Men put out a new album? I really would like to own it.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

You wouldn't believe how many people straight doubtin' my flow.

Sup?
I love Nelly. I wish I could hire someone to follow me around with a boombox all day, just playing Nelly. Or if Nelly would prefer to follow me himself that would be acceptable, too.
Remember when Puff Daddy, when he was Puff Daddy, or maybe he was P.Diddy by that point, who can really be sure? Oh, but he had that dude that followed him around just holding an umbrella over him? That was so awesome.

Onto the day!

It was rather slow at work. I didn't sleep much last night again. I am in an awesome mood.

I remembered on the way to work that we were out of coffee so I purchased some. I ran into my co-worker, James (Jim) outside Ah, Good Bread! (Au Bon Pain) and we hung out and rapped for awhile on the street corner.
It was delicious. French Roast. Yessss. Until I spilled it all over the vault floor. I then went to the expresso bar located in Myles office and made myself a cup. It looked like this.
I managed not to spill that one everywhere. Success!
Jenn and I tested out some pens. Pens are REALLY important at work. When you find a good one it's imperative to defend it with your life. Seriously, pens are no joke.
We liked the top one best. It was a very nice pen. The second one is shameful.

I also revealed to Jenn a little known secret about me.
My socks never, ever match. I put the shred can in my office directly infront of my feet for the sole purpose of hiding them in the rare case my pant leg may raise and reveal this secret.

I went to lunch! I had made way too much oatmeal for breakfast so I brought some for lunch.
I also read Shogun at lunch. And called Jason. But not in that order.

I was still hungry after lunch. I redeemed an egg for some CANDY. There was a Twix. I ate it before the picture. I was really hungry.

Tonight Jason and I are going to maybe watch the first season of 30 Rock or maybe watch a movie. Maybe I will extend my creepiness into documenting that.
I have to go to Fox Chapel tomorrow. I feel extremely hateful about this. At least I can get some Caribou Coffee. I do like their Coffee Cooler.

The weeks moving along nicely. I should order a pizza.

I love blogging.

I was excited all day to come home and blog. This may or may not mean that my day was just really boring. It wasn't though. Work was fairly busy. It was enough to make the day go pretty quick.
I decided I like posting pictures on here. So I took pictures of random things today for the sole purpose of blogging. I am officially really lame. That probably was official way before today, but whatevaaaaaaa.
So, to recap, this morning was disappointing because it was windy and hateful. I slept in a bit because it was impossible to fall asleep last night and I had to shower in three seconds and then leave for work. I don't like being rushed. It wasn't too bad though, the bus wasn't crowded so I was able to read in peace without hearing the usual explicit phone conversations with so and so's baby's daddy and the classic favorite of someone breaking up with their significant other.

At work we have this game going on for the month, everytime you do something on this list of beneficial things you get one of those plastic easter eggs, inside is another little egg with writing on it and you win stuff. It's sweet.

These are my eggs:
I redeemed some candy and a lottery ticket today, so they aren't shown, BUT GOOD NEWS, I am TWO DOLLARS richer!

I also got kind of bored around the end of the day, which resulted in the realization that I have a large quanity of pens.

I also checked the time incessantly.

When I skipped out of work, I was very pleased to see that the weather had improved. My bus took forever to come but that's normal. I think today was all in all pretty decent.
I was briefly infuriated at the people who get on the bus and refuse to move back because I'm pretty sure they believe there is a bus monster in the back of the bus. Then they clusterfuck the front of the bus and I kick them with secretive malice on my way out.

I really have no goals for the rest of the day. I may just do nothing and then go to sleep really early. Or try to finish Shogun, which is a really sweet book that I'm reading incredibly slow. I don't know why, I usually read rather fast. I hit this weird sort of creative slump recently where I've been unable to do any of the things I enjoy doing, like writing or reading at all. My poor journal has not been updated in a few months. I'm feeling better though, the nice weather is an excellent motivational tool. I think all that cold, cold, horribleness was starting to take it's toll on me. It doesn't usually get to me, but it seemed to just keep dragging with the 2 degree weather.
It can get you down.

I'm going to now eat some food. I'm thinking a peanut butter sandwich is sounding delicious. I had one for lunch too, but I really do like peanut butter sandwiches (and have no other food).

See ya!

This is what images from the webcam originally looked like.

We couldn't figure out why the picture was all weird. However, I don't know what exactly happened, but I've since figured out how it works. And it's AWESOME.
I can do THIS :
Oh my god. I forsee hours and hours of entertaining myself.

I'm hungry.

It smells really nice out. It's been raining on and off it seems. I'm not totally sure, I've been inside for the last few hours. It smells like either the before or after rain smell. I love it.
Well, weekend is almost over. It was a pretty decent weekend.
Friday:
I was feeling sort of weird, I wasn't too into doing anything at first. My anxiety level was insanely high, I bruised my wrist bone or something and I was entirely convinced I was going to meet my end, by swollen wrist bone death or something else incredibly intelligent like that. I dwelled on this ALL DAY. Anyways, after debating what I should do many times in my head, I realized if I stayed in by myself I would just continue freaking out. I still didn't really want to go out, but I made myself for the sake of my sanity. Poor Jason had to listen to me be totally insane for a good while, but I cleaned up my act rather quickly, I think. We went to the BBT to see Erik's friend Tom do stand up comedy. There were also bands. First band was boring, they weren't bad but they just made me sleepy. The second band was so good though. They were called Sistered, I think. They were almost shockingly good. It was a very nice wake up call though. Tom was really funny, I liked his act a lot. After we left there, Jason and I went to the cage with our new found energy. Closed out the cage and then went home and to bed with a six pack that we did really bad at drinking.
Saturday :
We had pancakes for breakfast. Pancakes are nice. I can't remember the order of the day really. Oh wait, yes, I think I can. We went back to my apartment, then we went to Kristophers for some food. Then we walked to this spot Jason had found awhile ago that had a nice view of the Burgh but when we arrived we found it was all tore up because there is a house being built there. We creeped around a bit, but it wasn't quite the same without all the treacherous weeds and such you had to previously get through to reach it. Then we embarked upon a walk in Frick Park. It was nice. While walking through Squirrel Hill I tripped about 2042930293 times on the sidewalk, weirdly not while in the woods though. I need to really work on my balance. I think one of those millions of times I tripped on the sidewalk, I pulled a muscle in my right leg. It started hurting then and hurts worse today. Boooo.
Anyways, after the woods walk, we walked back to Jason's. We had a plan to eat and watch a movie then go back to my place. Erik showed up, we all went to Napoli's instead and had some delicious pizza. I love pizza. Then we walked back and Erik left, we sat around for awhile, I fell asleep. Then we went back to my place, I changed, was unhappy with my outfit and hair and briefly pouted. We then walked up to the cage and met up with Pam and Andy for Pam's birthday celebration. It was a good time.

Jason and I were walking back and one of us looked at the time and we were totally baffled at how it was 3am. We talked about this today, too. How crazy it was that we were at the cage till three. I only recently realized the time had changed. We're observant. Obviously.

Bob being awesome.

Sunday/today :
Today we woke up and had biscuits! We then watched Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon which I enjoyed. Then we walked up Murray and went to Uncle Sam's which may have been the highlight of this day. After that we went to Barnes and Noble and browsed for a bit. Then walked back down Murray and my leg hurt a lot and since Jason is such a nice boyfriend, he drove me back to my place. So now I am here.
My spacebar is squeaking. This is annoying.
I'm pleased overall with the weekend though. I think this week will result in less craziness. At least I hope so.
